Please note the Hill Day event typically involves a significant amount of walking. 

From the shuttle drop-off location there is a 5-10 minute uphill walk to reach the Capitol steps. There is also a fair amount of walking between meetings, even if meetings occur in the same office building.

Whenever possible, we will provide participants with the option to take a cab or rideshare to reduce walking. If you have any concerns about this, please indicate in your registration and feel free to reach out to us at events@counseling.org, and we will work with you to address them. We are committed to making this event accessible for everyone.

ACA makes every effort to ensure that all activities are accessible to persons with disabilities. All hotels are ADA compliant. We will make every effort to provide a variety of food selections at events in recognition of those with dietary restrictions. Mobility Scooters

Electric mobility scooters are not available for rent, however, wheelchairs may be requested. Visitors may arrive to the Hill in electric scooters that they own, borrowed, or rented using a third-party service. 

Security Screening for Hill Visitors with Disabilities, Medical Conditions, Medical Devices, or Medications

Accessible Capitol Hill Parking

DC recognizes all State-issued accessible parking permits. Nearby public parking facilities are indicated on the U.S. Capitol Campus Accessible Routes map on the OCAS website. The map also identifies accessible pick-up and drop-off locations on Capitol Hill, which include areas for individuals to transition from vehicles to the street and an accessible ramp to the sidewalk level.  ACA typically drops off attendees at the “Peace Circle” along an accessible route.

  • Work directly with our presenters and attendees to provide requested accommodations. 
  • Make every effort to provide a variety of food selections and label the ingredients at events in recognition of those with dietary restrictions.
